I-10 Widening, 29th Street to Prince Road, Clark Street Structures Redesign
Structural Design Tucson, Arizona
Structural Grace, Inc. provided Value Engineering Design for the Clark Street Overpass Structures as part of the I-10 Widening; 29th Street to Prince Road project. This project consisted of the redesign of the Mainline Bridge over I-10 and the East and West Bound Ramp Bridges. Structural Grace performed a value engineering analysis on cast-in-place post-tensioned box bridges and determined that Pre-Cast/Pre-Stressed AASHTO Girder Bridges with smaller diameter drilled shafts were adequate. This saved the contractor and ADOT time and money and allowed the pedestrian tunnel to remain open during construction. This fast paced redesign of the three structures was completed within six months.
