State Route 347 over UPRR Crossing
Structural Design Maricopa, Arizona
SGI contributed to the DCR, EA and final design for the TIGER Grant funded $55 million grade separation of State Route 347 over the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) in historic downtown Maricopa. Extensive coordination with UPRR and affected agencies was necessary for project success. Structural Grace designed a 3-span bridge to carry SR347 over UPRR and a single-span bridge over the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and roughly 1500’ of retaining walls on the project. SGI provided the structural design of the superstructure/substructure elements, designed the architectural features and prepared construction plans, special provisions, bid specifications, quantity estimates and cost estimates. SGI also provided post design services.
