Rose Neighborhood Pedestrian Bridge Replacement
2010 ACEC Arizona – Engineering Excellence Grand Structural Design
Structural Design Pima County
As part of an on-call contract with Pima County, Structural Grace provided structural design and architectural enhancement services for the Rose Neighborhood Bridge Replacement project. The new bridge over the Rodeo Wash replaced an existing pedestrian bridge, meeting current pedestrian and bicycle accessibility standards and guidelines. The structure connects two sides of the recently developed linear park along the banks of the wash and provides direct pedestrian and bicycle access to the adjacent elementary school. Strong emphasis was placed on appearance and preserving the original concept as developed by University of Arizona. This project included extensive community outreach and public participation.
